Hola!
Bienvenidos! Texas State University’s School of Criminal Justice recently sponsored 15 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students along with 3 faculty members on a study abroad trip to Cuba.
We departed from Miami and arrived in the capital city of Havana. After spending 4 days in Havana we traveled to the nearby province of Cienfuegos to spend 2 days and then returned to Havana for the remaining 3 days.
The program’s goals and objectives were to identify key historical events as they relate to Cuba’s current criminal justice system, examine the role of the attorney and other legal personnel, and identify current social justice issues that affect the Cuban society.
The following is a collection of our thoughts and experiences during the 9 day trip across the country.
Thank you for following and Viva la Cuba!
